Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani on Monday has expressed utmost dissatisfaction on report presented by Advocate General Sindh regarding drought in Tharparkar.
Advocate General Sindh presented the report on Tharparkar to the three member committee of Supreme Court, led by the Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain, media reported.
According to the report, around 60 children have died in last 3 month in Tharparkar Sindh. These children did not die of starvation but other diseases were responsible for their death, the report stated.
The AG Sindh said that media was over exaggerating the issue of famine in Tharparkar.
He also informed the Chief Justice that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah will visit Tharparkar today.
The CJ responded that if media would not have reported the issue, nobody would have known about it.
And he further said that Thar people did not need the presence of the PM and the CM but they need food.
He also doubted the intention of the government about providing proper facilities to the drought hit Tharparkar.
