Lahore: Cricketer Umar Akmal finally got some relief as hi case for traffic violation has been resolved as his father has sought an unconditional apology which has been accepted by the warden
According to reports, Mohammad Akmal, father of Umar Akmal visited office of DIG Investigation Zulfiqar and sought unconditional apology for what his son did by violation the traffic rules.
Warden Zeeshan is my son like Umar Akmal and I am here to sought unconditional apology to resolve the problem, Mohammad Akmal added.
DIG Zulfiqar said that the apology has been sent to the Zeeshan and he accepted the apology so it was expected that the case would be ended soon where as the procedure to cancel the driving licence has also been stopped.
The 23-year-old was charged with interfering with government work and “scuffling” with the policeman after he failed to stop at a traffic signal and refused to show documents on February 1.
Traffic policeman Mohammad Zeeshan accused Akmal of tearing his uniform and assaulting him, charges the batsman denied.
Earlier Akmal’s father criticised the arrest.
“When our own people insult our national heroes then the rest of the world will also do this,” said Mohammad Akmal. “It’s insulting and unacceptable.”
Akmal has played 16 tests, 92 one-day internationals and 52 Twenty20s for Pakistan in a career that began in 2009.
