Washington: Google’s flagship and highly anticipated device Google Nexus 5 leaked again in black variant.
The Nexus 5 is expected to be officially announced any day now. The smartphone has been making rounds in leaked images and reported specs.
It has been once again been designed by LG and is based off the company’s current flagship, the LG G2. The Nexus 5 will also serve as the launch device of Android 4.4 KitKat. Its specs, features, and rumored price will likely make it a very popular smartphone with consumers.
Google itself has provided the latest to leak the Nexus 5. The smartphone appeared on the Google Play Store briefly with an image, description and price of the 16GB model, but was removed shortly after. Its description read “Capture the everyday and the epic in fresh and new ways starting at $349.” The handset is believed to be packing a high-end camera among other impressive specs and its imaging capabilities will apparently be something Google plans on highlighting.
The Nexus 5’s retail packaging has also leaked for the first time. The image shows the handset’s retail box, along with proof that it will be available in choice of black and white.
The Nexus 5 is expected to feature a 5-inch 1080 x 1920 Full HD IPS display with a pixel density of 442 pixels per inch (ppi) and be the first device to launch with Android 4.4 KitKat. It is expected to be powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM. The handset will include an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. The smartphone’s wireless capabilities are expected to include a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, and GPS. The Nexus 5 will be offered in 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants and use a 2,300mAh battery.
Google still hasn’t announced a date for an event to unveil the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat but it sure seems like we’re very close with these latest leaks.
