LAHORE: Current Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Water and Power, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, likely to be substituted by the outspoken Minister of State for Water & Power Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif is expected to be removed from his post over showing unsatisfactory performance in introducing new power projects and strategies for eliminating load shedding in Pakistan.
The Pakistan’s federal government considering to appoint Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali on the federal post which is currently held by Khawaja Muhammad Asif, local media reported.
The reports quoted the sources that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif already asked the federal minister for making immediate improvements in his performance but Asif failed in complying the PM’s orders.
The country’s leading party’s, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), sources claimed that Khawaja Muhammad Asif turned inactive in his duties observing the recent situation whereas Abid Sher is looking after all matters of the federal Ministry of Water and Power except heading high-level session with the related officials.
The sources added that some prominent leaders are playing their role in order to settle the reservations emerged between PM Nawaz Sharif and the federal minister of power sector Khawaja Muhammad Asif.
Abid Sher Ali is now becomes the most powerful nominee of the federal ministry of Water and Power post, however, the final decision would be taken by Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif after gaining confidences of senior party leaders of PML-N.
