ISLAMABAD: As both seem to be playing with each other, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader and prime minister Nawaz Sharif has raised objections over appointment of Justice (Retd) Ajmal as chief of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The name was tabled by the opposition leader in the national assembly, Syed Khaursheed Shah, on Friday during his meeting with the premier.
The objectation was raised that Justice (Retd) Ajmal was secretary of law at the time of Nov 3, 2007 emergency, imposed by then dictator and president General Pervez Musharraf.
It seems that Pakistan Peoples Party is in a mood to keep playing with the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz federal government.
The impression emerges after the opposition leader Khaursheed met with the prime minister Nawaz Sharif to finalize the appointment of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chief.
However, already discussed names were not finalized by both the leaders.
During the meeting, Khaursheed Shah, who is from PPP, recommends name of Justice (Retd) Mian Muhammad Ajmal for the NAB’s chairman.
Contrary, the premier did not give any name delaying the matter till Saturday morning.
Supreme Court has already given warning to the federal government appoint the NAB chief at the earliest as corruption cases have been continuously being deferred due to absence of NAB chief.
