Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said on Wednesday that he should be nominated as the interim prime minister.
The PML-Q is a coalition partner of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in federation while the PPP has also made Shujaat’s brother and senior politician Pervaiz Ellahi as the country’s first deputy prime minister.
“The interim prime minister will be elected with the consensus of the opposition,” he told reporters during press conference here on Wednesday.
Commenting over amended nomination papers, he said that he had no reservation over the papers, he would fill any nomination paper to be given to him.
To a query regarding Musharraf’s announcement of return to the country, the senior politician said that he (Musharraf) was a citizen of Pakistan and held green passport, adding that he could comeback whenever he wanted.
