Lahore: Pakistan cricket board (PCB) has declared that Sana Mir will lead Pakistan’s 15-members squad for ICC Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup in India.
Sana Mir (C), Bisma Maroof (VC), Batool Fatima, Rabiya Shah, Nahida Bibi, Sadia Yousaf, Javeria Wadood, Syeda Nain Fatima Abidi, Asmavia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Kanta Jaleel, Nida Rashid, Sameea Siddiqi, Elizabeth Barkat and Diana Baig.
Pakistan sat in Group B along with Australia, New Zealand and South Africa while Group A includes England, India, West Indies and Sri Lanka.
According to the tournament schedule, Pakistan will play its first pool match on January 31st, 2013 against Australia in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Meanwhile, warm-up matches will be played during the dates of January 28th, 2013 till January 30, 2013 and Pakistan will play two warm-up matches with England (December 28th, 2013) and West Indies (December 29th, 2013).
Timings for day matches will be 0900 (Indian Time), 0830 (Pakistan time) while for day/night fixtures 1430 (Indian time), 1400 (Pakistan time).
Pakistan’s Captain Sana Mir has won the Player of the Tournament at the 2008 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, and currently ranks 16th in the Reliance ICC Women’s ODI bowlers rankings.
Previously, Pakistan has made its Women’s World Cup debut in 1997 hosted by India.
