Colombo: South Africa Women’s team on Wednesday defeated Pakistan in play-off match of International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s World T20 by 5 wickets at the Moors Sports Club Ground in Colombo.
Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. Middle order Bismah Maroof was the only player who resisted the South African bowling attack. She contributed 32 runs in Pakistan’s 87 runs total.
In reply, South Africa’s middle order Alison Hodgkinson was the top scorer with 25 while Trisha Chetty made 22 runs. South Africa accomplished the target in 19.5 overs with five wickets remaining.
