London: United States President Barack Obama on Wednesday said that it is wrong for anyone to fear that the rise of developing giants China, India and Brazil will come at the cost of American and European influence around the world.
In a speech to both houses of the British Parliament, Obama said al Qaeda’s backbone Osama bin Laden has been killed and al Qaeda has been weakened in Afghanistan. We (US and the UK) have very big challenges to resolve, he added.
Obama said bin Laden had started battle on the name of religion. He said Afghanistan has not remained safe haven for al Qaeda. We are fighting against al Qaeda not against Islam, and we have never ever fought against Islam.
The US president said that al Qaeda has killed our hundreds of citizens. Al Qaeda is also responsible for thousands of Muslims, Obama added. Obama further said that terrorist killed hundreds of people in New York.
We have to eradicate the networks of terrorist groups, and nuclear proliferation around the world.
