Asif Zardari hopes that transition phase continues within governments

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari expresses hope for the continuation of smooth and peaceful transition of power from one democratic government to another, the same way it has been so far.

He called upon all the political forces to work together towards further strengthening democracy and democratic institutions. The president was speaking to a group of former and incumbent parliamentarians from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan who had separately called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.

The participants appreciated his efforts for adopting a policy of reconciliation. The delegations thanked the president for working to ensure an end to the sense of deprivation in the peoples of K-P and Balochistan provinces.

Zardari stated that reconciliation is the best tool for the reinforcement of democracy and helpful for transition phase. Efforts must be initiated for further strengthening of democratic affairs.
