Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Sunday took notice of the torching of more than 150 houses in Christian neighbourhood of Lahore, a metropolitan of Pakistan.
The apex court has summoned Inspector General Punjab Police and Advocate General on Monday. The IGP Punjab and Advocate General have been directed by the Chief Justice to appear with the report pertaining to the incident.
Over 100 homes in the Christian neighbourhood were ransacked and set ablaze by an angry mob on March 9 after an individual from the area was accused of blasphemy.
