Islamabad: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Sunday said that all the incidents against Christians, a minority in Pakistan, happened in Punjab, biggest province of the country.
Speaking to media on Sunday, Malik said that the Punjab government was well informed before the happening of the incident but they did not take any step to avert the situation.
He further said that if action would have been taken against the culprits of Gojra tragedy then no one would dare to take such a step in Lahore.
“Christians staged peaceful demonstrations against the incident across the country,” he said.
The minister further said that if Punjab government would not give justice to the Christians then the federal govt would intervene and provide justice to the victims of Badami Bagh.
He further said that if needed, federal government would form a commission to probe the Lahore incident.
Malik also blamed terrorists for their involvement in Badami Bagh incident adding that Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), al Qaeda and other banned outfits, who did not want elections in the country, are trying to delay the polls through these incidents.
