Islamabad: Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Monday that a sit-in by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and other opposition parties would strengthen democracy in Pakistan.
Talking to sit-in participants, Malik said all members of the parliament have every right to do anything under the constitution and law.
Earlier, talking to the media outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Malik said that the Tahir-ul-Qadri’s statement that martial would have been imposed after five minutes if he had not called off his protest was against law and the Constitution.
“Qadri’s statement is alarming and Pakistani people want to know why and how he talked about martial law.”
