Shujat Ali Baig, adviser Habib Bank Limited (HBL) and former education minister Sindh (caretaker), will receive Sitara-i-Imtiaz (or Star of Excellence) Award from the Government of Pakistan on March 23.

Cabinet Division has sent a letter to Mr Baig last week to inform him that the government has notified his award and he can receive it on the date which also marks Pakistan Resolution Day.

Sitara-i-Imtiaz is the third highest honour and civilian award in the State of Pakistan. It recognises individuals who have made an “especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of Pakistan, world peace, cultural or other significant public endeavours”
