Karachi: Pakistan cricket star Shahid Afridi has rejected an offer of $0.4 million, approximately Rs 40 million, to participate in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, after Pakistan Cricket Board refused to issue NOC to any of its player.
According to sources, after PCB’s refusal, the BCB administration contacted the star cricketer and offered him Rs 40 million to participate in the tournament, which has lost its color due to the absence of Pakistani players.
“Shahid Afridi gave preference to his country’s cricket body decision over millions’ offer,” they said.
It is to be mentioned here that PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf refused to issue NOC to the Pakistani player after the Bangladeshi board declined to send its players to Pakistan.
Zaka said that he was disappointed with the continuous betrayal of the BCB, which announced to send its players to Pakistan, but later made an excuse of security reasons.
