Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed Sindh police to arrest murderer of Manzar Imam, the MNA of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), within till Wednesday (tomorrow).
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing of Karachi unrest case.
During the hearing, the CJ remarked that a provincial lawmaker had been gunned down along with his body guards but police was doing nothing. He added that it was challenge for the police to arrest the killers.
The chief justice asked the Sindh chief secretary and police officials that situation of Karachi has not improved.
On this, the secretary said that the situation in the city was being improved.
The CJ also inquired the release of Ajmal Pahari, the killer of 100 people, and directed the police officials to produce report regarding his release.
