Indian TV show goes off-air after Pervez Musharraf’s back-fire on Indian govt, army

New Delhi: Former Pakistani President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf on Friday lashed out at Indian media for fabricating false stories against Pakistan’s armed forces, forcing the channel to cut-off the program before its actual time.

Speaking on Indian TV channel Times Now, live from London, Musharraf said that India was fabricating false stories in order to damage the image of Pakistan Army and its security agency, ISI, across the globe.

When asked by anchor why Pakistan was not acting against Lashkar-e-Taiba, Musharraf questioned as to why India was not doing anything against extremist party Shiv Sena.

“Can Indian government dare to take action against Shiv Sena,” he shot back at the anchor.

Responding to a question about long march, Musharraf said that India had no right to ask about Pakistan’s internal affairs.

On the claim of mutilating the body of Indian soldier by Pakistan on Line of control (LOC)by Indian anchor, the ex-army chief said, “Pakistan army did not mutilate body of any Indian soldier and it never does so.”

He said India was deliberately escalating at the Line of Control. Pakistan army, he said, believes in resolving all disputes, including Kashmir, with India.

“Is this your democracy that India sent back Pakistan’s hockey players and artists,” he questioned?, Musharraf forcefully asked anchor of the show.

i think musharraf stance is brave and courageous on tv interview which was about current tension on LOC.Indian anchor was raising issues of past which was clearly reflects indian medias hatred against pak army and government i must say say that musharraf did a very great job his presence of mind clearly shows his devotion and sincerity for pakistan

I doubt the show went off air as I saw the whole interview. Not sure which part was skipped.

Comparing LeT, a terrorist organization that is both against its state as well as India, with Shiv Sena which is a right wing political party is naive on the part of the general. I’m not a ShivSena fan nevertheless Shiv Sena is not a terrorist org and it doesnt send contract killers offshore to pak.
To say that the devil (LeT and other terror groups) in your own backyard is an angel and expect the world to believe that beats any logic!

Secondly, General’s insensitive remarks on Saurabh Kalia, who was a PoW for 21 days and then tortured, killed and mutilated during the Kargil war, and also remarks about the recent beheading of the Indian soldier shows he is just trying to gain political mileage from it. Many have died on LoC but such gruesomeness and dishonor is condemnable. His comments were an insult to the mother and the widowed wife of the beheaded soldier whose simple demand to the world is “Get my son’s head back”. Do you think they will ever have a closure on this?

How can people of Pakistan expect Indians to host Pakistanis when your brothers from other parts of your country scheme all time kill and terrorize the Indians. Cant you rein them in or atleast have the will to do so before you complain about artists and hockey players? You cant be both at war as well as dine and dance with a nation at the same time, can you?

As a child I did hope that the two countries would reconcile if not unite ( would dream of the strong cricket team we would have had if that happened) but now, I see that Pakistan is obsessed with India and in the heart of heart Pakistanis hate the Indians. If thats the case, then please be proud of everything that has happened in the recent days including the beheadings.

I’m all for peace but frankly I dont see it coming. Alternative? Seal the borders? Live and let live?

So this is the free media of the worlds largest democracy, first insult your guests and interrupt them again and again and when the guest starts speaking the truth, you pull him off air and end the show. Wow india is truly shining. Gujrat, Assam, Mumbai, Delhi are the places where largest progroms against minorities have taken place.
