Islamabad: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday assured the nation that there would be no operation against the sit-in of Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri.
The announcement was made by Geo News anchor Najam Sethi, who said that President contacted him via telephone and asked him to assure the nation that there would be no operation against the people sitting in front of parliament house.
Meanwhile, the president also assured Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain that their would be no operation against the people present in front of the D-Chowk.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Wednesday warned the Pakistan Awmi Tehrik (PAT) to evacuate the sit-in spot by tomorrow otherwise a targeted operation would be carried out against the sit-in, led by PAT chief Tahirul Qadri.
Talking to media, Malik said that there were several ways to evacuate the place and the security officials are considering to it.
