Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has directed his workers to get ready for his call saying he is monitoring the current political situation closely.
During a pressing conference hours after the Supreme Court’s order to arrest the country’s prime minister, Khan presented his seven-point agenda.
Khan demanded President Asif Ali Zardari to resign immediately and said that free and fair elections could not be held in presence of the current president. “Government should announce elections immediately.”
He said that the interim setup decided by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would not be accepted.
He warned that the delay in election would not be accepted. “The supreme court decision should be implemented without any delay otherwise the PTI workers will come into the streets.”
The cricketer turned politicians also criticised the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) saying it has failed to stop the rigging in by-elections.
Pakistan’s political situation turned dramatically after the Supreme Court’s order at the time when Canadian-Pakistani Tahir-ul-Qadri with thousands of his followers is present in the capital.
