Models with whale sharkPhilippines: Fashion industry discovered new horizons as models took part in a one-of-a-kind photo-session underwater.

Hannah Fraser, 36 years old and fellow model Roberta Mancino, 32 years old, dived up to 25 feet deep into the ocean to pose with a whale shark in Oslob, Philippines.

US photographers Shawn Heinrichs and Kristian Schmidt were the creators of the unique underwater fashion shoot.

The world’s largest fish, measuring 30 feet long and weighing 20,000 pounds, survive by consuming tiny sea creatures called plankton.

According to photographer Shawn whale sharks were gentle animals and presented zero threat to people. The fishermen we worked with welcomed us to their village and helped us interact safely and respectfully with the whale sharks, he added.

“People are blown away by the images,” Shawn said. “Most find it hard to believe they are actually real, many people assume the models are morphed into the pictures.
