Young doctors rough-up MS in Gujranwala hospital; Punjab OPDs closed

Gujranwala: An intense scuffle was witnessed in Gujranwala on Wednesday when young doctors attacked and beat their seniors, including the MS, at the District Headquarter Hospital.

The young doctors stormed into the office of the MS, Dr. Anwar Amanullah, tortured him and forced him out.

When resisted, they also roughed up other senior doctors on the occasion.

Meanwhile, police said that they have arrested the leader of the doctors involved in the disturbance.

OPDs closed in protest

Young Doctors Association (YDA) has announced to close all outdoor service, including Outpatient Departments (OPDs) in the entire province in protest against the arrest of YDA Punjab head, Dr Rashid and other leaders in Gujranwala.

On the other hand, patients are facing extreme anxiety due to the closure of the said services amid severe cold in the province.

This time YDA was demanding for there rights no body was there to hear them so they got ennraged.they did it in a very barbaric and inhumane way,i mean the approach was poor.The YDA should be banned as it is growing to be a newborn mafia.the way MS was smacked,hospital setting destruction

Idiots!!! Totally digraceful behaviour…these people should be knocked off the register, no one has a right to resort to violance, whether it be a law makers, politicians or doctors. This is nothow educated people should behave. Today they did it on doctor,tomorrow it could be patients.

Knock them off the register, no job…no pay issue. End of story!!!
