Islamabad: Pakistan has acknowledged the status of Republic of Kosovo as an independent and free state.

The office of foreign ministry of the country said in a statement that it had accepted the status of ambassador of Kosovo at Ankara summit recently.

It said that it took the decision keeping in view the desires and aspirations of the people of the republic.
