Rawalpindi: Acting Medical Superintendent (MS) of Holy Family Hospital (HFH) Rawalpindi Dr. Arshad Ali Sabir on Wednesday confirmed killings of 17 rats saying that emergency steps were being taken to eradicate rats from the hospital.

After taking his charge as MS, Dr. Arshad told media that chemicals were used to eradicate rats.

“A special week for cleaning was observed in the hospital,” he said and added the main reason of rats’ presence was having no sanitary contract in last three years.

Deputed on children’s care duty, Dr. Rubina Zulfiqar said that the baby which had been bitten earlier by rats was completely healthy and would be discharged after one day. “The child is being shifted in ‘Mother Child’ ward with his mother from children nursery,” she added.
