Pakistan thrash India 5-2 in Super Series hockey league

Perth: Pakistan hockey team gets their first triumph at the Lanco International Super Series Hockey Tournament as they outclass India by 5-2 in the third standing play-off played here on Sunday.

With this win against the arch rivals, the green shirts get the third place in the nine-a-side format of the game, also known as Hockey 9s. The match was played at the Hockey Stadium in Bentley.

Earlier on Saturday, India whipped Pakistan by the same margin in a round robin match, recording their first win in the tournament.
