Karachi: Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi, is going to organise a public awareness seminar on “Naegleria fowleri , Brain-eating amoeba” on Wednesday.
An affiliate of International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), the program will be held at Prof. Salimuzzaman Siddiqui Auditorium, ICCBS, University of Karachi.
Prof. Dr. M. Rafiq Khanani, Professor & Chairman Pathology, Dow University of Health Sciences; Director, Dow Diagnostic Reference and Research Laboratories; President, Infection Control Society Pakistan; Co-Chair Biological Safety Association of Pakistan will deliver the lecture.
An official of the ICCBS said that the management of PCMD and VEPP are pleased to announce a series of popular lectures for public awareness on common diseases of Pakistan, while various lectures on different health issues have already been organised in this regard.
He said that PCMD is providing world class scientific training to the graduate students in the areas of molecular medicine and drug discovery by focusing on the development of new and effective diagnostic and treatment techniques against prevailing diseases.
Health professionals, students, research scholars, NGO representatives, and general public are invited to attend this program.
