Lahore: The annual P@SHA ICT Awards 2012 took place at the Pearl Continental, Lahore, this year. The flagship event of the ICT industry is now in its ninth year of celebrating local genius.

The theme for this year’s Awards was “Innovation Beyond Limits” – certainly one befitting the ambitious brains behind our growth and progress in ICT.

The P@SHA ICT Awards raise the quality bar every year and reward only the most deserving candidates out of a 100+ entries that flood the jury’s desk.

Speaking at the event, Jehan Ara, President – P@SHA, said “The judges are becoming tougher and tougher each year and are awarding recognition to only the best in each category. If they think that entries in a particular category do not warrant giving out an Award they reduce the number of awards given. We are delighted with some of the entries received this year and are looking forward to taking the winners to Brunei to compete regionally against the best software applications in the Asia Pacific.”

P@SHA’s newly-elected Chairman, Naseer Akhter, said that there is a lot of potential in the Pakistan ICT sector. All that is needed is that they be nurtured and recognized for their achievements. P@SHA’s mandate is to ensure that the industry continues to grow in leaps and bounds. Toward that end P@SHA has been strengthening its resources to provide the support that the industry demands. This year we  have very ambitious targets and we look forward to working with the ICT community to achieve them.

The winners from product category of the P@SHA ICT Awards 2012 will be part of the P@SHA delegation that will compete at the APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Awards) in Brunei, against 15 IT economies, namely, Australia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. The APICTA is scheduled to be held on December 2 – 5, 2012.
