You must have seen Saleem Safi opposing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Waziristan march and criticizing the party during a GeoNews talk show  Lakin on Sunday, whose host Sana Bucha always conducts shows only to malign the Imran Khan’s party.

Now a days Mr Safi is putting efforts to appear as a realistic and unbiased journalist, though he has completely  failed  in creating  such an image.

The arrogant journalist considers himself champion and an authority on Afghan and FATA related affairs, although it was Hamid Mir who had conducted Osama bin Laden’s interview not Safi Sahib.

He also  considers himself the owner of tribal region for being a “Qabaeli” and is not ready to let anybody in Pakistan to worry about their Pakhtun brethren in the tribal areas.

During the talk show he said he had presented victims of US drone attacks in his show “Jirga” and apprised the world about the impact of dangerous machines.

Safi said that Imran Khan could also highlight the issue in Islamabad and there was no need to march on Waziristan, adding that the PTI’s move was only to garner votes of tribesmen and a political stunt.

Now the point is that when Salim Safi is convinced that the drones are killing  innocents in the tribal region and  he had highlighted the issue through inviting the victims in his show then why  he advocated use of drones before Senate’s  Defence committee’s  historical open hearing last month. Yes, it was Mr Saleem Safi, Thekadar of tribal affairs, who corroborated his argument, saying that the drones were killing al-Qaeda and Taliban terrorists in the tribal region and they were being wrongly criticized.

Why doesn’t  Mr Safi dare to support drone attacks on TV talk shows instead of criticizing Imran Khan, who is a staunch opponent of the drones and openly says what he wants to say.

You will never find Saleem Safi opposing drones on TV shows but i tell you that the man is a supporter of drone attacks and dose not care whether innocents are being killed or otherwise.

He should not become a hypocrite and openly support the drones if he considers they are effective in eliminating terrorists.

 The only reason behind his criticism of Imran Khan is  that the cricket star turned politician opposes drone attacks and military operations in tribal region near Afghan border.
