Jeddah: Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC), African Union (AU), European Union (EU) and League of Arab States on Thursday jointly condemned the anti-Islam film, Innocence of Muslims, which raged violence against United States across Muslim World.

In a joint handout released on Thursday, the four regional organizations stated that the anger present in Muslims over the film was a joint anger.

“Spreading hatred on the basis of religion in order to increase enmity and violence is a condemnable act,” the handout said adding that extremist’s elements could not hostage the entire International community.

The organizations further stressed to reply to acts of intolerance and ignorance with negotiations and co-operation.

The anti-Islam film “Innocence of Muslims,” sparked a wave of bloody anti-American violence in cities across the Muslim world which targeted symbols of U.S. influence ranging from embassies and schools to fast food chains. At least 30 people have died so far in unrest connected to the film in over 20 countries.

The worst incident of protest occurred in Libya, where U.S. ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, and three other Americans were killed in an attack last week on the U.S. consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi.
