Islamabad: The anti Islam film, Innocence of Muslims, has not only triggered anger among the religious Muslims but now the secular Muslims have also joined the ranks with announcing to kill the film-maker.
Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) MNA Sheikh Waqas Akram on Wednesday lashed out at the maker of ‘Innocence of Muslims’ and said that the maker of the anti-Islam film deserves execution.
Expressing his views over the film in Geo News programme, Capital Talk, the MNA said that he was shocked over release of such a blasphemous film.
“After watching the clip of the film for just 2 minutes, I lost my patience and switched off the film,” he said.
Mr. Waqas also said that the federal cabinet had decided to summon the US Ambassador to Pakistan on Friday and lodge protest over the American-made film.
The other participants of the programme, which includes Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Munawar Hassan, National Party leader Mir Hasil Bizenjo and PPP Balochistan leader Sadiq Imrani also expressed their resentment over the film.
The low budget movie sparked violence in the Muslim world with thousands of people attacking US embassies and the consulates. The worst incident occurred in Libya where armed protestors killed US ambassador to Libya including three other diplomats.
