Jeddah: After many Muslim countries blocked YouTube for not removing anti-Islam film, Saudi Arabia also threatened to block YouTube, a video-sharing website, in the kingdom.
According to official news agency SPA, the kingdom threatened to ban YouTube if Google does not respond to a request to deny access to an anti-Islam film produced in the United States.
“Saudi Arabia’s Communications and Information Technology Commission has… requested Google to block all YouTube links carrying the film,” SPA reported.
“If this request is not met, the commission will block YouTube altogether.”
It is to be mentioned here that violence sparked in Muslim states over the film insulting Prophet (PBUH) and the worst incident occurred in Libya where four US diplomats including the ambassador to Libya were killed by armed protestors.
