Islamabad: The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS), Senator Raza Rabbani Wednesday termed the extension granted to Army chief Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kayani as the need of the hour.

Talking to Geo News after attending a program on Wednesday, Senator Raza Rabbani said: “The extension in office term granted to the Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani was a need of the hour, but (holding of) parallel meetings of the military leadership with foreign diplomats was inappropriate”.

Senator Rabbani described the present relations among the Parliament, Army and Government as ‘better’ compared to the past.
