JI activist Pervez Mahmud among two killed in Karachi

Karachi: Former Town Nazim and key political activist of Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr Pervez Mahmud, was killed by unidentified miscreants in North Nazimabad area of Karachi.

According to sources, unidentified armed men riding on motorbikes attacked the car of Pervez Mahmoud in North Nazimabad area of Karachi, injuring two people. Mahmoud and his friend Khalil Ullah later succumbed to death on their way to the hospital.

The funeral prayers of Mahmud would be performed at Numaish Chowrangi in Karachi at 1: 30 pm.

Jamat-e-Islami Chief Munawar Hasan has condemned the killing of the deceased leader and demanded government to arrest the killers as soon as possible.

Different political leaders including Chairman Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) Afaq Ahmed, Pakistan Sunni Tehrik (PST) chief Sarwat Ejaz Qadri, former Mayor of Karachi, Naimat ullah Khan, JI leader Prof. Ghafoor Ahmed also condemned the killing of the leader.
