Karachi: Insurance sector is expanding its business by leaps and bounds in Pakistan and it offers a brilliant career roadmap to qualified and talented youngsters in different fields to unleash their potential and become a part of fast growing billion rupees industry.
Faisal Shahzad Abbasi, Head of Retail Distribution and Marketing, Jubilee Life Insurance, briefs the career scope in the emerging insurance industry in an interview to The News Tribe.
The insurance companies have been designing their services with the handsome annual growth of 30 to 35 percent in last five years due to efforts of genius minds and hardworking workforce who continued to perform an unrelenting job for meeting their goals achieved.
But the industry is looking for more dynamic people who are capable to deliver extraordinary with creative and out-of-box solutions and ideas in the emerging and financially strong sector. The insurance sector is not just limited to life but has expanded to crop, assets, and business and we see many new products in future with changing lifestyle and risks associated with individuals lives.
Insurance is not an old as it was. It has been changed gradually with introduction of different products and services with core objective to minimize risk of finance in personal and collective lives. And definitely the people behind the product development must be genius and dedicated to create various products for targeting customers.
It is because of the fact the insurance in not a weird concept for people as it was before in last decade in Pakistan. Now, people belonging to high and middle income groups are embracing insurance products as basic and inevitable thing in their lives, which is a good and healthy sign for insurance companies and its workforce.
I have been working in the financial sector of the country for last 15 years but I really enjoyed working for insurance company particularly in the field of bancaassurance, which is driving the expansion of overall sector.
There are lots of jobs in different fields for talented youth in insurance sector which is not related to sales and marketing merely but it is involved different hardcore fields of the business including brand building, financial research, products development and many more.
MBAs and students having masters degree in finance, marketing, human resource will have many tremendous opportunities to enhance their skills in the insurance companies. Besides professionals having acumen to learn skills can switch their jobs like a lot of bankers have been doing in big cities.
Insurance sector has a wide scope of career for committed professionals with good number of opportunities, handsome salaries and fringe benefits.
The insurance sector seems penetrating its market comprising 15 percent of the country’s population but it will keep on flourishing with good pace in the future to explore markets of the middle income groups– a big market still untapped. Hence, students and young professionals should realize how bright the scope of career in the insurance sector.
Though the insurance companies are not many in the country but their business are growing with extraordinary speed and their collaboration with banks have increased their distribution and reach manifolds. In my observations, companies are more conscious to build up their brands and compete with each other.
