London: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain Friday strongly condemned the killings of Shiites in the terror incidents in Karachi and Naran.

At least 22 people have been killed as unknown armed men opened fire on three buses in Naran area of Mansehra district  in North Western Pakistan  on Thursday followed by a blast targeting a bus carrying Shiites in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi on Friday, killing at least one person and injuring 10 others..

In a statement issued from MQM London Secretariat, Altaf expressed his sympathies to aggrieved families and said that the Shiites were killed after identification.

“Killing of a person, after identifying a particular sect, is a conspiracy against the religious harmony of the country,” he said adding that people should foil sectarian violence with their unity.

Altaf demanded government authorities to take serious measures in order to eliminate the elements creating differences between different religious sects.
