Dr. Mubarakmand’s Thar coal project declared fraud by ANP, PPP senators

Islamabad: Senators from two coalition parties in government have declared Thar Coal Power Project by Dr. Samar Mubarakmand, considered to be a national hero for its contribution, a fraud.

The senators include Awami National Party (ANP)’s Senator Haji Adiel, Senator Alyas Baloch and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s Senator Fatha Hasni who view Thar coal power project as a futile one.

Senators said that, “Dr Samar Mubarakmand has been taking money for last four years and hasn’t succeeded yet to develop even single megawatt electricity”.

Criticizing Samar Mubarakmand at the meeting of Senates Standing Committee on Finance, senators said that his project was nothing but a waste.

“He first deteriorated the Reko Diq project,” they noted and added now he was making claims to generate gas from Thar coal.

“Reko Diq project, which was put on sideline by authorities, should be given to Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan.”

Earlier Dr Samar Mubarakmand said in an interview “I am a member of Planning Commission and I will not make money from the project,”

Founding team leader of Pakistan’s Nuclear Program Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan has also criticized Dr. Samar Mubarakmand alleging the latter one is be-fooling the nation on Thar Coal Power Project.

this jalanhariya arain has looted many times pakistan… during his stay
at PAEC , NESCOM, and now at thar coal project.. he didnt know anything
about engineering and power plants ..he is just a physics scholar.. but
he has got influence in pakistan ignorant politicians and militory by

This is worth mentioning that its not the Thar coal project which is criticized but the UCG thar project which is being lead by Dr Samar Mubarak Manad, I am of the view that Dr Samar is fooling the nation, wasting money. I know he ll not make money because he will only waste it as has been doing it since his start. I knew from the beginning all his deadlines for power generation were nothing but a fraud and moral corruption. He has visited almost every country to read papers nd attend conferences nd sort of acedemia but not visited the project site even once

Let us downplay these trivial differences between our national heroes

Given the current energy situation in the country, I do not see any harm in going for Thar coal. It is at least worth a try.
