London:The medals fight between United States and China have concluded at London Olympics 2012 after Laura Asadauskaite won a well deserved gold medal in Modern pentathlon, final event of the Olympics.
The United States dominated the medals race with 104 medals in the event including 46 gold and 29 Silver and Bronze medals.
China succeeded their rival in Olympics with 87 medals. The medals include 38 gold, 27 silver and 22 bronze.
The host Britain remained at No 3 in the Olympic race with 65 medals. The medals include 29 gold, 17 silver and 19 bronze.
United States athlete Micheal Philips was the most successful athlete of the Olympics after winning four gold and two medals. He also became the most successful Olympian of the history after winning 22 medals at the Olympic events including 18 gold medals.
US athletes Missy Franklin and Brady Ellison shared five medals each while Jamaica’s Usain Bolt, the fastest man on the earth, won three medals.
