Dr Akmal Waheed sent on 2-day remand

Karachi: An anti-terrorism court on Saturday remanded   a Pakistani citizen Dr Akmal Wahid in  police custody for two days.

Waheed was arrested from the Karachi Airport upon his arrival from Dubai where he spent two years in jail.

He was picked up by law enforcement agencies from the airport a few days ago this month. Dr Waheed was presented before the ATC judge on Saturday.

Gulshan-e-Iqbal police have lodged an FIR against him for violating Schedule-4 and his alleged links with some banned organisations.

It is to mention here that Akmal Waheed and his brother Arshad Waheed were charged with having links with terrorists who launched attack on Karachi Corps Commander back in 2004 in which at least seven soldiers lost their lives.
