Australia defeats England in U-19 world cup

Tony Ireland Stadium, Townsville: Australia Under-19 cricket team on Saturday defeated England by 6 wickets in the first match of ICC U-19 world cup.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and put England into bat first. England’s C Overton with 35 runs was the only player who showed resistance to the Australian bowler. English team was bowled for 143 runs in 38.3 overs.

Australia’s GS Sandhu took three wickets for 27, while AJ Turner got three wickets for 30.

Australia accomplished the target in 35.1 overs for the loss of four wickets. Young TM Head scored 57 runs and WG Bosisto made 35 runs whileboth batsmen were remain unbeaten.
