London: Behdad Salimi of Iran won the gold in the men’s over 105-kilogram category of the weightlifting event of the 2012 London Olympics at London’s ExCel arena on Tuesday.
Salimi, 22, lifted a total of 455 kilograms to win the gold medal in the event, which was held.
Compatriot Sajjad Anoushiravani took the silver medal ahead of Russia’s European champion Ruslan Albegov.
Both the silver and bronze medallists smashed their international competition personal bests.
