It’s time for Pakoras, Samosas, Dahi Barey, Kachhori, Lemon water and some more Iftari dishes. It’s hard for one to control on Iftar table. Upon asking some celebrities what do they like to have in their Sehri and Iftari, some of them were like:

“Rahat-e-Jaan, mushroob-e-mashqriq, Roo Hafza. (like my daughter pronounces it)  At Sehri I have to have exactly what my wife is having. For Iftari I can’t live without my fruit chaat always small pieces and hold the chaat masaala.” Wes Malik

“I am cheese lover so I love to have either cheese toast or may be cheesy paratha. ; ) Some portion of paratha with cheese I have in my Sehri.

I love to have Kushaf in Iftari. It’s an Arabic drink which is very energetic with almonds, figs, raisins, and dried apricot soaked six hours in water. Later we add these dry fruits to any Sharbat. This an essential drink of my Iftari.” — Farah Jehanzeb Khan

“Iftari is incomplete without Khajoor” Also I love having Rooh Afza with Milk and ice. Yum! I love fruit chat too.” — Asad Ahmed

“Apart from dates, I am a tea and coffee addict, so must have one or the other at Sehri and Iftari. Sometimes I have both. I  also love chaat at Iftari time.” — Mehr Hassan

“Without yogurt my Sehri is incomplete. Khajoor and milk are very essential for my Iftaari.” Fariha Pervaiz

“For Sehri porridge is quite good, because it fills me up and keeps me going for the day. For Iftari there is a variety of things. One can have from chicken curry to Lamb Karahi with bread. Remember to start with dates and water first, then with a moderate meal and a drink this meal would be quite healthy and will not make you gain weight. Also during the day you should try not to burn so much fat (exercise) because you will end up feeling hungrier. I think for Iftari dates and lemonade I love to have.” Kirran Awais Suhail

“I love having pakoray, samosay and Rooh-Afza with milk in Iftari. I love having paratha, anda/aloo wala paratha and dahi during Sehri. I am a very desi guy and have no qualms in ‘showing it off’. However, more than food its family that’s most important during Iftar/Sehr time. Having spent many Ramazans alone at college in America, I understand what it means to have a family and a dastarkhwan during the Holy month of Ramazan. Although at college I had a different family when Indian/Hindu friends used to wake me up for Sehri (Mein ghorray baich ke sota hoon).” –  Shahvar Ali Khan

“I love having paratha and cottage cheese pakoras.” Leena Aziz

“I love fruit chaat for Iftari and for Sehri; I can’t eat much so I just take one toast with a cup of tea. My favorite drink is lemonade, with some fresh mint.” Naila Saadat

“I love having yogurt and orange juice.”  – Naeem Shah

“For Sehri it would be yogurt as it keeps hunger away and is great for regenerating cells as we fast. Hmmm for Iftari, I would say fresh fruit chaat & good Rooh Afza\nimbu pani. Water, one must have tons and loads of it.” Sadia Hyat Khan

“I love having omelette at Sehri. I love having fruit chat and Coke in my Iftari.” Aley Khan

“Rooh Afza I have in both Sehri and Iftari. I love having lots of pakoras, kachoris and jalebis in my Iftari. Sehri is a bit light; at times only a jug of Rooh Afza or at times chicken or paratha with yogurt I have.” –  Mubbashir Sheikh Mashoo

I have water and paratha at Sehri time and I have water and pakoras at Iftar time.
Wijdan Malik

“I think something sweet in Sehri is must for me and yogurt etc too and of course water and there are some traditional Sindhi sweets which I love in the Sehri along with normal meal whatever mom cooks and mango shake. Iftari – I am more into fresh juices, fruit or coffee but with that I think rest depends what’s again cooked at home like usually we have dahi ballas, chat, vegetable pakoras, onion pakoras etc. I love the most and have them a little because I avoid having proper food in Iftari but have dinner little late.“ Saif Samejo

I take milk in Sehri and kala chana in Iftari. I have tea, tea and more tea in my Iftari. — Shakia Ahmad
