Madrid: Police claimed to have detained three suspects affiliated with al-Qaeda from southern Spain in possession of explosives .
Media reports on Thursday said the three suspects were held by police from two different places and they are thought to have been planning attacks in Spain.
Two of them are Chechen while one is Turk. The media has started speculating that one of the suspects received training in Pakistan and was linked to a Jihadist group in the South Asian country.
The arrests came amid growing security concerns in Europe in the wake of Arab Spring.
