Yangon: A moderate earthquake of magnitude 5.7 has shaken central Myanmar near the Indian border on Sunday.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake had a magnitude of 5.7 and struck at a depth of 68.4 kilometers (42.5 miles). Myanmar’s meteorological and seismic agency put the magnitude at 5.8.
No casualties or damage have been reported. The epicenter of the quake, occurred Sunday at 8:51 a.m. local time, was about 215 kilometers (135 miles) northwest of Mandalay, Myanmar’s second largest city.
