Karachi: In a joint operation of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board and Police, over 526 acres of land, a piece supposed to be having a giant water project, have been recovered from land mafia.
As many as 200 policemen and staff of the water board were able to recover official land of worth billions at Mauripur.
The land was occupied a couple of months ago and a boundary wall was being built around the land.
The land is actually reserved for a water project, naming S III, that is aimed at preserving water for Karachi, the port city of Pakistan.
There is a general impression that official lands and parks at Karachi are occupied by land mafia, who quickly builds its installation or buildings after, occupying the land.
