PU student discovers oil reservoirs in Kohistan Limestone Mountains

Lahore: A University of Punjab M Phil student has discovered oil reservoirs from thousand-years old limestone mountains present in the Kohistan salt range.

Noman Zeb of PU’s geology department under the supervision of Dr Shahid Ghazi found huge oil reservoirs in the areas of Khajar, Taral, Badshahpur, Kroli and Sarhi. Huge oil reservoirs are present in limestone sentiments, Daily Naibaat reported.

Noman Zeb said that his study also found that similar range of mountains like these mountains present in Potohar Range.

Huge quantity of oil reservoir is present there which can be taken out under the supervision of government. Producing and utilizing these reservoirs will be helpful in reducing power shortage that has struck the country.
