Ramadan moon sighted in Pakistan

Karachi: Muslims in Pakistan will begin fasting tomorrow (Saturday) as Ramadan moon has been sighted in the country here on Friday.

The official announcement was made by Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman.

The chairman said that the weather was cloudy in mostly parts of Pakistan but evidences were acquired from Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan areas of Pakistan.

“The clerics thoroughly checked the evidences and then decided to announce the first fasting of Ramadan on Saturday,” the chairman said.

The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee met under his chairman in Karachi for the sighting of Ramadan crescent and collecting evidences of moon sighting.

Zonal Ruet Hilal Committees also met in their respective areas for moon sighting.

People were seen on Friday preparing for the holy month of Islamic calendar Ramadan with religious zeal.
