Lahore: A truth has been revealed on Wednesday that late Rajesh Khanna, also known as Jatin Khanna, who died on July 18, 2012 was born in Burewala, a city of Vehari District in southern Punjab, Pakistan, media reported on Wednesday.
Earlier, the record of Khanna shows that he was born in Amritsar on 29 December 1942. He was adopted and raised by foster parents who were relatives of his biological parents. Khanna lived in Thakurdwar near Girgaon. Khanna attended St. Sebastian’s Goan High School in Girgaum.
According to local residents and sources, the legendary Bollywood actor was born in Burewala on December 29, 1942 and completed his primary schooling from MC Primary School in Burewala.
The sources also revealed that father of the late actor Lala Hiranand Khanna (also known as Jatin Nawas) was the the headmaster of Government MC Model High school. The documents of the school also proved that Lala Hiranand Khanna was the head master of the school.
The house of the late actor was also found in the city with his father name, Jatin Nawas, on the name plate.
Residents and former friends of the legendary actor also expressed their grief over the death and said that they were proud to have spend time with such a brilliant actor.
The residents also said that Jatin Nawas retired from the school in 1947 and then migrated to Amritsar, India in 1948, following the partition of sub-continent.
