New Delhi: A man in India killed his sister-in-law after she refused to wash his clothes. A city court awarded him life imprisonment.
Raju, 35, battered the lady to death. Additional sessions judge Nisha Saxena said the victim had “nipped a young life in bud”, Hindustan Times reported.
“Without any rhyme or reason, he extinguished the life of a 19-year-old and therefore, he needs to be given stringent punishment to send a message across to the society not to play with young, innocent lives.”
The court also imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 on Raju.
Raju had asked his teenaged sister-in-law to wash his clothes, and upon her refusal, the convict picked up a piece of stone and attacked her on the head, face and eyes.
Her skull was fractured and she bled to death before she could be rushed to the hospital.
