7 kg heroin recovered from cement bags imported from Pakistan: Indian custom

Amritsar: The Indian Custom officials on Monday seized seven kilograms  heroin from a train coming from Pakistan. The seized drugs worth Rs 350 million in the international market.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Indian custom, acting on a tip-off, the customs department team seized seven kgs of heroin from a goods train that arrived here from Pakistan today.

“The heroin was found concealed in a cement bag during rummaging of the goods in the train,” the official said adding that fool proof security measurements have been installed for the imports from Pakistan.

The Indian Border Security has seized 194 kgs of heroin worth Rs 9.7 billion in the international market, smuggled from Pakistan.
