PIA flights affected due to weather

Karachi: Persistent Bad Weather in the Northern region of Pakistan is continuing to affect PIA Flight Schedule at Islamabad and Lahore resulting in consequential delays which is beyond the control of the airline. PIA spokesman said here on Friday.

On Friday 06 International flights and 03 Domestic flights were affected due to weather. The International flights included PK 892 Islamabad-Lahore-Bangkok – Hong Kong, PK 763 Islamabad-Amsterdam-Frankfurt, PK 781 Islamabad-Toronto, PK 749 Islamabad-Milan, PK 701 Islamabad-Manchester and PK 794
Barcelona-Islamabad-Karachi.

Three Domestic flights that were delayed due to weather included PK 301 Islamabad-Karachi, PK 329 Islamabad-Quetta and PK 651 Islamabad–Lahore.

While, PK 451 & PK 452 Islamabad-Skardu-Islamabad were cancelled owing poor weather conditions.

Besides, both Karachi and Islamabad airports remain close for two hours due to cleaning of the runways during the day because of which the flights have to be re-scheduled.
