I dislike when people are judgmental about music, says Baba Sehgal

Baba Sehgal is a rapper, actor, model, anchor and King of Rap too. Above all, he is an entertainer too. His famous hits include Thanda Thanda Paani, Manjula, Dil Dhadke, Rukmani rukmani, Jugni Mastkalandar, Balle balle ho gayi hai, Memsaab, Aja meri gadi mein bhaith ja, Welcome to Mumbai and Hakuna Matata. He also hosted the TV show ‘Superhit Muqabla’ which was aired on DD2 (Doordarshan-2) at primetime. He hosted Philips top ten with Jaaved Jaffri which was a complete laugh riot. He has also participated in Big Boss, Dhoom Macha De, Fun on the run and acted in Jugni Chali Jalandhar which ran for a period of two years on Sony Sab. While talking to The News Tribe (TNT), he was like:

TNT: What acts as your inspiration?

BS: Kishore Kumar has been my biggest inspiration.

TNT: Share a few lines on time when you started music and music scene in Pakistan these days. What major difference you feel?

BS: I see no difference between music scene in India and Pakistan as we are divided cause of people who don’t want India and Pakistan to unite. Pakistani singers are doing excellent in India and as an artist I have tremendous respect for all of them. I had a blast performing in Karachi a decade ago.

TNT: You would like to perform with whom and why?

BS: I am a Hip Hop Guy so I would love to perform with Wills Smith, Eminem and 50 Cents as I feel am a part of them.

TNT: Also compare Indian music industry with foreign one.

BS: Indian music industry is global only in terms of our Asian community and also Bolly wood Bhangra music is gaining popularity in all the major pubs abroad.

TNT: What are some of the few things that you dislike about music industry?

BS: I dislike when people start being judgmental about music.

TNT: Share a few lines on your upcoming projects.

BS: I am finally releasing my new single ‘Mumbai City‘ releasing end of this month. It’s a dark underground kind of a rap number and it took me almost six months to write the song. Check the song releasing on you tube exclusively by end of this June.

TNT: Tell about your craziest fan?

BS: Little kids J

TNT: What is success for an artist according to you?

BS: When you are able to convey your passion with conviction against all odds, I think that’s when Artist starts feeling positive and confident. It’s like ruling the entire universe.

TNT: Out of all the things that you do, acting singing, what do you enjoy the most and why?

BS: I am jack of all the trade and master of none. I have been lucky to be an anchor, actor, model, singer and I feel proud when they refer me as The KING of Rap.

TNT: What is your suggestion or advice for infant musicians?

BS: Never leave your passion and faith in yourself as the same is going to take you places believing in your self is an asset and don’t lose it as that is only the tool to your ladder of success.

TNT: What is your message?

BS: Make peace with yourself.
